A rare and historically significant Swiss-made pocket watch by Moeris, specifically commissioned for the "Tramways du Caire" (Cairo Tramways) in Egypt. The porcelain dial features the Moeris logo alongside Arabic script reading "Tramway Misr" (Egypt Tramway). The inner dust cover is beautifully engraved with Moeris’s Grand Prix awards from Berne (1914) and Milan (1906), while the outer case back is stamped with the official service issue year 1927 and the unique service number 2750. Featuring a "Non-Magnetic" patented movement, this timepiece was designed for the high-electromagnetic environment of early 20th-century electric trams.
